Frequently Asked Questions

How disturbed do I need to be to see a psychotherapist?

People go into psychoanalysis or psychoanalytic psychotherapy with serious, less serious or no symptoms at all. Symptoms are the signal that one needs to work with oneself but at times a mere sense of lack of meaning or purpose is enough reason to begin analysis.
What is a difference between a psychologist, a psychiatrist and a psychotherapist? How do I know where to go?

A Psychologist has studied the ways of the human mental world but is not trained to undertake clients in therapy.
A Psychiatrist is also trained to assess mental difficulties, but can only deal with mental problems medically.
Specialists from both domains need to be additionally trained in Psychotherapy to take on clients in therapy.
